Continued Connecticut capital commotion
January 31, 2005
As well covered by the blogs Kirby’s Reports and Three Generations, Connecticut has hit a major roadblock in its efforts to have the first execution in the Northeast in 40+ years. This AP story provides all the details, including the fact that now, under state law, the execution cannot be scheduled for at least a month after a
new warrant is issued.
As evidenced by posts here and here at Crime & Federalism, Norm Pattis is not too pleased with these developments. TalkLeft appears pleased. I continue to wonder how much time, money and energy has been expended on litigation concerning this one sad, but symbolic, case.
UPDATE: The New York Times has the latest news on the case here.
