Penn Law event next month on “Plea Bargaining Policies, Reforms, and Research”

Via email, I learned of an exciting event taking place on April 4, 2025, in Phildelphia.  Here is the event description drawn from the email text of LawProf Lucian Dervan, who is the Founding Director of the Plea Bargaining Institute:

The Plea Bargaining Institute and the Quattrone Center at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School are pleased to host a one-day symposium on plea bargaining entitled Plea Bargaining Policies, Reforms, and Research.  The event, scheduled for Friday, April 4, 2025, will begin with a light networking breakfast at 9:00am and conclude at approximately 4:00pm.  The first panel of the day will be a discussion regarding plea bargaining reform that will include noted scholar and jurist Hon. Stephanos Bibas of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.  The day will also feature a panel discussion focusing on prosecution office plea bargaining policies.  Consistent with the PBI mission to make research more accessible to policymakers, advocacy organizations, and practitioners, there will be two research download sessions during which we will hear from several researchers about their current studies and findings.  Finally, lunch will include breakout sessions to discuss some of the topics of the day in smaller group settings.

The event is free, but seating is limited. Registration Link here.
